A spreadsheet that lied every Monday
In 2016 our founder’s family gym had 640 members, three registers and one very tired manager. Fees were tracked on paper, attendance on trust, and nobody could say how many people had actually turned up on a Tuesday evening.
The first version of FynGym was a fingerprint reader wired to a laptop under the reception desk. It answered one question honestly — who came in today — and that was enough for four neighbouring gyms to ask for a copy.
Software should survive a bad day
Gyms lose power. Internet drops mid-rush. A reader gets knocked off the wall. Most gym software assumes none of that happens, so it fails exactly when the queue is longest.
We design backwards from the worst hour of the week: peak-time, no network, half the staff on leave. If it works then, it works.
Ten years, no shortcuts
One gym, one reader
A fingerprint scanner and a laptop replace three paper registers in Kharadi.
Four gyms ask for it
The first paid customers arrive by word of mouth. Webspace IN Private Limited is incorporated.
The year everything closed
We rebuild around freezes, refunds and reopening. Half our customers survive; the ones that do stay for good.
Face check-in ships
Offline-first matching on eSSL and ZKTeco hardware. Buddy-punching stops being a problem.
Multi-branch and the owner app
Pooled memberships, group reporting, and a phone app owners actually keep on the home screen.
1,412 gyms
A support team in Pune, a replica in Hyderabad, and still no outside investors.
Four rules we do not break
Your data is yours
Export everything, any time, without asking. No ransom on the way out.
Support answers first
Every engineer does one support shift a week. You cannot fix what you never hear.
No dark patterns
Cancelling takes two clicks. We never bury the downgrade or auto-renew a trial.
Ship small, ship often
Weekly releases, no forced upgrades, and a changelog written in plain language.
Thirty-four people in Pune
Twelve in engineering, nine in support, six in onboarding, four in sales, three keeping the company running. No offshore support desk, no chatbot pretending to be a person.
